Our mission is to bring together the arts and cultural organizations of Pottstown, Pennsylvania to articulate and promote a unified vision for the downtown district. Through coordinated programming and marketing efforts, we seek to increase cultural tourism, generate awareness of the social and educational importance of the arts, and spur local economic redevelopment through the arts.
Situated along the scenic Schuylkill River, the Borough of Pottstown was founded in 1752 by John Potts. He came from a family of ironmasters who established a forge here, beginning the town’s long and rich history of making things. Today, Pottstown is transforming itself from a place that once made Mrs. Smith’s Pies and provided steel for the Golden Gate Bridge to a creative center for arts and culture. A new generation of painters, dancers, musicians, visual and performing artists and organizations, as well as culinary artists, are calling Pottstown home. Its historic architecture, tree-lined streets and neighborhoods, and walkable downtown also make it an ideal place for families, businesses and visitors.
Today Pottstown draws thousands of visitors as host of the area’s largest 4th of July fireworks display and hometown events, regular Classic Car shows during warm weather months, the Volleyball Rumble at Memorial Park and the Schuylkill River Festival in October.
